China has slammed Macau’s biggest junket operator Suncity for raking in 1 trillion yuan through online gaming and proxy betting. The data comes from a Chinese state-backed report on online gambling, which noted it was equivalent to nearly twice the annual income of China’s lottery. Gambling is illegal in mainland China, apart from in the special administrative region of Macau, where Chinese nationals can bet in casinos.
